Mini Crane Remote Control – 2 Way Pendant with Emergency Stop

This is the replacement wired remote control for mini cranes and electric hoists — a 2-way push button pendant with an emergency stop, rated 5 A at 500 V AC with normally closed contacts and a plug-in connector. What it does and why the contacts are normally closed

A mini crane is operated from wherever the load is being received, not from the machine itself — so the pendant on its cable is how the operator raises and lowers material while watching it. Two buttons give direction; the emergency stop gives an immediate way out.

The detail that matters is the normally closed contact design. In an NC circuit the current flows while the contact is at rest, and pressing the emergency stop breaks it. That means the stop works by interrupting power rather than by sending a signal — and it also means that if the cable is damaged or a connection fails, the circuit breaks on its own and the hoist stops. A normally open arrangement would do the opposite: a broken wire would leave you pressing a stop button that no longer reaches the machine. On lifting equipment with a suspended load, that difference is the whole point.

Replace the pendant when a button becomes unreliable or sticks, when the cable or connector is damaged, or when the emergency stop does not cut power decisively. A remote showing any of these should be taken out of service rather than nursed along — the operator's control over a suspended load runs entirely through it.
