Mini Crane 500kg – Monkey Hoist, 30m Lift, 4HP Single Phase

The 500 kg Mini Crane is an electric single-phase hoist that lifts up to 500 kg to a height of 30 m on a 6 mm wire rope. Also called a monkey hoist, it mounts at the working level and lifts material up the outside of a building — the standard way to get cement, steel and tools to upper floors without a tower crane. 3 kW (4 HP) motor on ordinary 220 V single-phase supply.

Why a mini crane on a building site

Material has to get to the working level, and on most Indian sites that is not a tower crane job — a tower crane is capital, footprint and erection time that a mid-rise or a redevelopment plot cannot justify. The alternative is carrying material up by hand, which is slow, labour-heavy and the reason material handling so often becomes the bottleneck rather than the work itself.

A mini crane sits between those two. It is small enough to mount on a slab edge or scaffold and run off ordinary single-phase power, but it still reaches 30 m — roughly ten floors. At 250 kg the machine itself is lighter than the 1 ton model, so it is easier to move between positions as the building rises, which matters when the lifting point has to shift with the work.

Which mini crane to choose

Both models reach the same 30 m and both run on single-phase supply. The difference is what you need to lift in one go.

• This 500 kg model — 4 HP motor, 6 mm wire rope, 250 kg machine weight. For cement bags, tiles, tools and general site material, and easier to reposition.
• 1 ton mini crane — 5.5 HP motor, 7 mm wire rope, 320 kg. For heavier single loads: bundled rebar, full pallets, equipment.

Match the machine to the heaviest single load you actually lift, not the average — the rope and motor are sized to the rated capacity.
