GQ50 Bar Cutting Machine Blade – 90x90x26mm, HRC 50-55

This is the replacement cutting blade for the GQ50 bar cutting machine — 90 × 90 × 26 mm, heat-treated to HRC 50–55. It is the wearing part of the machine: the blade does the cutting, so it dulls with use and is replaced periodically while the machine itself keeps running.

The GQ45 takes a smaller 83 × 83 × 26 mm blade — order the GQ45 cutting blade for that machine. If you are unsure which you have, measure the blade currently fitted.

What it does and when to replace it

A bar cutter shears rebar between a fixed and a moving blade. Every cut takes a small amount of edge off both, so blades are consumables — meant to be replaced, not repaired. The GQ50 blade is larger than the GQ45's because the machine cuts up to 40 mm bar, which means more material sheared per stroke and more load through the cutting edge. Hardening to HRC 50–55 is what holds that edge through repeated cuts on high-tensile TMT.

Replace the blade when cuts start to leave a ragged or folded bar end rather than a clean shear, when the machine needs noticeably more time or force per cut, or when you can see chipping or rounding on the cutting edge. Running a badly worn blade puts extra load on the motor and clutch, so replacing on time protects the rest of the machine.
