Portable Needle Vibrator – 950W, 35mm Integrated Poker
Portable Needle Vibrator – 950W, 35mm Integrated Poker
The Jamshedji 950 W portable needle vibrator is a lightweight, hand-held electric concrete vibrator with an integrated 35 mm poker — an all-in-one unit that plugs into ordinary single-phase power and weighs just 2 kg. Unlike the engine and motor drives that take separate needles, this is a self-contained tool for columns, small pours and confined spaces where a full drive is too heavy to handle. 4,300 rpm, 3.7 A.
Key specifications at a glance
- Motor: single-phase electric, 950 W
- Integrated needle: 35 mm diameter
- Speed: 4,300 rpm
- Current: 3.7 A
- Weight: 2 kg
- Construction: stainless steel and plastic
Why concrete has to be vibrated
Freshly poured concrete is full of trapped air. Left in place, those voids become honeycombing and weak points that cut the strength of the finished pour and expose the reinforcement to corrosion. A needle vibrator is pushed into the wet concrete and its high-frequency vibration liquefies the mix momentarily, letting the air rise out and the concrete flow tight around the bars and into the corners of the formwork.
An all-in-one tool, not a drive-plus-needle
The petrol and 3 HP electric machines are drives: a separate engine or motor connected to an interchangeable needle by a flexible shaft. This portable unit is different — the motor and the 35 mm poker are built into one hand-held tool. There is no separate needle to buy or match.
That makes it light (2 kg) and instantly usable — plug it into a normal socket and work. The trade-off is that it is a fixed 35 mm needle at lower power, so it is made for smaller, tighter work rather than mass concrete: columns, beams, small slabs, repair pours and anywhere a full drive is awkward to carry or manoeuvre. Its high 4,300 rpm gives fast, effective consolidation in those smaller sections. On the biggest pours, the petrol and 3 HP electric drives remain the right tools.
Where it fits in the range
- This 950 W portable — the lightest unit, integrated 35 mm needle, for columns, small pours and confined spaces.
- 1300 W portable — the same hand-held format with more power for slightly heavier portable work.
- 3 HP single-phase electric drive — a full drive taking interchangeable 35–70 mm needles, for larger indoor and mains-powered pours.
- 6 HP and 7.5 HP petrol drives — cable-free power for large pours on sites without electricity.
Applications
Columns and beams, small and repair slabs, footings, precast and formwork pours, and any small-scale or confined concrete work where a light, plug-in vibrator is easier to use than a full drive.

Frequently asked questions
What is a portable needle vibrator for?
Consolidating concrete in columns, beams, small slabs and confined spaces. It is a light, hand-held tool for work where a full drive would be too heavy or awkward.
Do I need a separate needle for it?
No. The 35 mm needle is built into the unit — it is an all-in-one tool. The separate needles are for the petrol and 3 HP electric drives, not for this portable.
How is it different from the 3 HP electric drive?
The 3 HP is a full drive that takes interchangeable 35–70 mm needles for larger pours. This portable is a lighter, lower-power all-in-one with a fixed 35 mm needle, made for smaller and confined work.
Does it run on ordinary power?
Yes — single-phase, drawing only 3.7 A, so it works from a normal socket.
How is it different from the 1300 W portable?
Same hand-held format; the 1300 W has more power for slightly heavier portable work, while this 950 W is the lightest and most economical.
