The Jamshedji 1300 W portable needle vibrator is the more powerful of the two hand-held units — a lightweight electric concrete vibrator with an integrated 35 mm poker that plugs into ordinary single-phase power and weighs just 2.2 kg. The extra motor power over the 950 W unit gives stronger consolidation while keeping the same easy, all-in-one portable format for columns, beams and confined pours. 4,300 rpm.

Key specifications at a glance

  • Motor: single-phase electric, 1300 W
  • Integrated needle: 35 mm diameter
  • Speed: 4,300 rpm
  • Weight: 2.2 kg
  • Power supply: ordinary single-phase
  • Construction: stainless steel and plastic

Why concrete has to be vibrated

Freshly poured concrete is full of trapped air. Left in place, those voids become honeycombing and weak points that cut the strength of the finished pour and expose the reinforcement to corrosion. A needle vibrator is pushed into the wet concrete and its high-frequency vibration liquefies the mix momentarily, letting the air rise out and the concrete flow tight around the bars and into the corners of the formwork.

An all-in-one tool, not a drive-plus-needle

The petrol and 3 HP electric machines are drives: a separate engine or motor connected to an interchangeable needle by a flexible shaft. This portable unit is different — the motor and the 35 mm poker are built into one hand-held tool. There is no separate needle to buy or match.

At 1300 W it is the stronger of the two portables, giving more effective consolidation than the 950 W unit while staying just as light and easy to handle. It plugs into a normal single-phase socket and is ready to work — ideal for columns, beams, small slabs and repair pours where a full drive would be too heavy or awkward. For mass concrete and large slabs, the petrol and 3 HP electric drives are still the right choice.

Where it fits in the range

  • 950 W portable — the lightest and most economical hand-held unit for smaller portable work.
  • This 1300 W portable — more power in the same hand-held format, for slightly heavier column, beam and slab work.
  • 3 HP single-phase electric drive — a full drive taking interchangeable 35–70 mm needles, for larger indoor and mains-powered pours.
  • 6 HP and 7.5 HP petrol drives — cable-free power for large pours on sites without electricity.

Applications

Columns and beams, small and repair slabs, footings, precast and formwork pours, and portable concrete work needing a little more power than the 950 W unit while staying light and mains-powered.

Frequently asked questions

What is a portable needle vibrator for?

Consolidating concrete in columns, beams, small slabs and confined spaces. It is a light, hand-held tool for work where a full drive would be too heavy or awkward.

How is this different from the 950 W portable?

Same hand-held all-in-one format and 35 mm needle; this 1300 W unit has more motor power for stronger consolidation on slightly heavier portable work. The 950 W is the lightest and most economical.

Do I need a separate needle for it?

No. The 35 mm needle is built into the unit. The separate needles are for the petrol and 3 HP electric drives, not for this portable.

When should I step up to a full drive?

For mass concrete, large slabs or where you need a bigger needle. The 3 HP electric and the petrol drives take interchangeable 35–70 mm needles for that heavier work.

Does it run on ordinary power?

Yes — single-phase, so it works from a normal socket.
