Push Button Switch – Panel Mount Start/Stop, 10A 600V AC

This is a panel-mount push button switch for machine control panels — rated 10 A at 600 V AC, with normally closed contacts, screw terminals and a plug-in connector. It is the start/stop button an operator presses on the panel itself, used when building a new control panel or replacing a worn switch on an existing machine.

Where it is used

This is a standard industrial control component rather than a part specific to one machine. It mounts through a panel cutout and wires in by screw terminal, so it suits control panels on bar bending and cutting machines, threading machines, mixers, hoists and similar three-phase equipment — anywhere a start or stop button is mounted in the enclosure.

Panel button or handheld remote

These two look similar in a parts list but do different jobs.

• This push button — 10 A / 600 V AC, panel mount. Fixed into the machine's control panel; the operator stands at the machine.
• Mini crane remote control pendant — 5 A / 500 V AC, 2-way with emergency stop, on a cable. Held by the operator away from the machine, for cranes and hoists.

Normally open or normally closed

Worth getting right before you order. A normally closed contact carries current at rest and breaks the circuit when pressed — the correct behaviour for a stop button, because a broken wire or failed connection also stops the machine rather than leaving a dead button. A normally open contact does the reverse and completes the circuit when pressed, which is what a start button needs.

A conventional start/stop pair therefore uses one of each: normally open for start, normally closed for stop. This switch is specified as normally closed. If you need a start button or a matched pair, message us with what your panel requires and we will confirm what to send.
