Tamping Rammer Rubber Bellow – RM 80 / HCR110

The tamping rammer rubber bellow (model RM 80 / HCR110) is the concertina rubber boot that covers and protects the ramming shaft assembly on Jamshedji tamping rammers, sealing the moving parts against dust, grit and moisture. It is a wear item — when the bellow cracks or splits, grit reaches the shaft and wear accelerates, so it is replaced as routine maintenance.

Fits

This bellow fits the RM 80 / HCR110 rammer assembly used on the Jamshedji Honda GX160 petrol tamping rammer and diesel tamping rammer. If you are unsure which rammer you have, send us the machine model or a photo on WhatsApp and we will confirm the correct part.

What it does and when to replace it

The bellow is the flexible rubber cover between the rammer's guide cylinder and the foot assembly. It flexes on every stroke while keeping the internal shaft and bearings sealed from the abrasive site environment. Because it works in dust and takes the full stroke cycle continuously, it perishes over time — the first signs are cracking at the folds or a visible split.

Replace the bellow as soon as it splits. A torn bellow lets grit into the shaft, and shaft and bearing wear costs far more than the bellow. Keeping a spare on the shelf avoids downtime mid-project.
