This is the heavy-duty power trowel built in-house by Jamshedji Constro Equip at MIDC Bhosari, Pune — a 1000 mm walk-behind concrete floater driven by a 5.5 HP Honda GX160 petrol engine, on a reinforced 100 kg frame. Also called a power floater, it floats and finishes fresh concrete on RCC slabs, warehouse floors, pavements and industrial flooring. Running on petrol rather than mains power, it works on open sites, podium slabs and remote locations with no electrical supply.

Choosing between the two petrol trowels

Jamshedji supplies two 1000 mm petrol power trowels. Both carry the same Honda GX160 engine, the same 960 mm pan and the same 60–125 rpm range, and both are built to work hard — the difference is mass, and which one suits you depends on the site.

This heavy-duty model weighs 100 kg. That extra mass helps hold a flat plane across wide industrial pours and presses harder into the surface during finishing passes, which flooring contractors on large slabs generally prefer.

The 1000 mm petrol power trowel weighs 75 kg. Being lighter, it is quicker to manoeuvre in tight bays, easier to turn at slab edges, and simpler to shift between floors on a project with repeated lifts. On multi-storey work where the machine moves several times a day, that matters more than mass does.

Where it fits in the trowel range

For indoor slabs, basements and enclosed areas where engine exhaust is a problem, use the single phase power trowel or the dual speed power trowel. For edges, corners and column bases a 1000 mm pan cannot reach, add the 600 mm power trowel edger. Above roughly 1,000 sqm per pour, the twin-rotor ride on trowel (ROT) covers ground faster.
