The Jamshedji Ride On Trowel (ROT) is a twin-rotor riding power trowel with two 940 mm pans and a 24 HP engine, built for finishing large concrete floors at speed. The operator rides the machine rather than walking behind it, which is what makes long shifts on warehouse slabs, industrial floors and trimix flooring sustainable. Variable speed runs 70–150 rpm across eight blades. Weight is 380 kg.

When a ride-on earns its place

Concrete does not wait. Once a slab reaches the finishing window, the whole area has to be worked before it hardens — and on a large pour that window is the constraint, not the machine. A walk-behind trowel covers 1000 mm per pass with one operator walking every metre of it. The ROT covers two 940 mm rotors from a seat.

On warehouse slabs, industrial floors, malls and large trimix pours, that difference decides whether the finishing crew keeps ahead of the set. It also decides whether the same crew can still work properly at hour eight — walking a trowel across a few thousand square metres is genuinely hard labour, and finish quality drops as operators tire.

Below roughly 1,000 sqm per pour the economics usually favour a walk-behind. Above it, the ride-on is the machine that gets the floor closed on time.

Where it fits in the trowel range

The ROT finishes the open field of a large slab. You will still need a smaller machine for the perimeter — the 600 mm power trowel edger closes the band around walls and columns that no ride-on can reach.
