The Jamshedji ride on laser screed machine is a four-wheel-drive hydraulic concrete floor levelling machine with a 3,000 mm screed width, powered by a 24 HP Honda 690 petrol engine. A rotating laser transmitter broadcasts a level reference plane across the pour; the screed head reads it continuously and corrects height many times a second, holding grade across wide open bays without setting or pulling screed rails. It handles slabs from 30 mm to 300 mm at 300–500 sqm per hour. Net weight 880 kg.

Why laser screeding replaces rails and a screeding gang

Traditional flooring depends on screed rails: set them, level them, pour to them, pull them, then patch the lines they leave. The finished flatness is only as good as the rails were, and every rail is a labour cost and a defect waiting to happen.

A laser screed removes the rails entirely. The laser plane is the datum, and the machine chases it — spreading, vibrating and striking off in one pass with stirring-cage paving at 4,500 vibrations per minute. One operator on the machine does the work that previously took most of a screeding gang, and the flatness is consistent across the whole bay rather than varying between rail lines.

For warehouse and logistics floors this is not a preference but a requirement. Tenants specify floor flatness before they will install high-bay racking, and rail-and-gang screeding struggles to hit those numbers repeatably across a large deck.

Ride-on or walk-behind

The ride-on is the machine for large-format open decks: warehouse and logistics-park floors, heavy factory slabs, and any pour where 3,000 mm passes and 300–500 sqm/hour are what keeps the crew ahead of the concrete.

The walk behind laser screed machine covers 2,600 mm and handles slabs up to 150 mm. It suits smaller bays, mezzanine floors, areas with restricted access, and projects where a 880 kg ride-on cannot be craned into position. Both are Honda petrol powered.

After the screed has levelled the slab, finishing follows with a ride on trowel for the field and a 600 mm edger for the perimeter.

What is a laser screed machine and how does it work?

A rotating laser transmitter set up beside the pour broadcasts a level reference plane. Receivers on the screed head read that plane continuously and adjust the head height many times a second, so the machine holds grade automatically without screed rails. It spreads, vibrates and strikes off the concrete in one pass.

Do I still need screed rails?
