The Jamshedji rebar spiral bending machine rolls TMT bar from 6 mm to 25 mm into continuous circles, arcs and helical spirals, with coil diameters from 250 mm up to 2,000 mm. It produces the helical confinement reinforcement used in bored piles, circular columns, metro and flyover piers, and water-retaining structures — work an ordinary bar bender cannot do, because it needs a continuous rolled curve rather than a series of discrete bends. Driven by a 4 HP (3 kW) motor through an oil-bath gear reduction. Weight 350 kg.

Why spirals need a different machine
A bar bending machine makes a bend at a point. A spiral is not a series of bends — it is one continuous curve of constant radius, rolled progressively along the length of the bar. Try to make it on a standard bender and you get a polygon of flat segments rather than a circle, and the bar is worked hard at each bend point.
This machine uses three rolling pins that apply uniform pressure as the bar feeds through, so the curve forms gradually and the rebar matrix is not torn. Pitch — the spacing between spiral layers — is adjustable, so the helix can be set to match the pitch called for on the column or pile drawing rather than being approximated on site.
That matters structurally. Helical confinement is what holds a circular column together under load, and its performance depends on the spiral being the right diameter at the right pitch throughout.

Where it fits in the fabrication yard
Spiral work sits alongside the rest of the cage-making line rather than replacing any of it. Straight bar is cut on a GQ45 bar cutting machine and bent on a GW42 bar bending machine; rectangular links come off the CNC automatic stirrup bending machine or the manual ring making machine. Cages are tied with a rebar tying machine, and vertical bars in deep pile cages are joined with threaded couplers rather than lapped.
