The Jamshedji electric screed board vibrator is a 3 metre single-beam vibrating screed with a 1.5 HP 220 V single-phase motor, delivering 1.8 kN vibration force at 2,800 rpm. It levels, compacts and finishes concrete slabs — floors, footpaths, ramps, driveways and industrial bays — by being dragged across the wet pour. Weight 13 kg. Made in Pune.

Key specifications at a glance

  • Blade length: 3 metres
  • Motor: 1.5 HP, 220 V single phase
  • Speed: 2,800 rpm
  • Vibration force: 1.8 kN (exciting force 2.2 kN)
  • Motor unit: 410 × 410 × 240 mm
  • Weight: 13 kg

What a screed board vibrator actually does

Fresh concrete looks levelled once it has been struck off, but it is not. Air voids sit under the surface, and aggregate is unevenly distributed. Left alone, both show up later as a rough finish, low density near the top, and eventually surface flaking.

A vibrating screed does two jobs in one pass. Vibration drives entrapped air upward and out, so the surface densifies as you go. The straight-edge blade being dragged across the pour then holds a level — you get a flat, dense, ready-to-trowel slab in a single working stroke.

Electric works quietly and cleanly on any site that has ordinary 220 V mains. No exhaust, no fuel handling, no engine noise on residential or refurbishment sites, and no waiting for a fuel top-up mid-pour.

Key features

  • 3 metre blade covers slab widths that hand-screeding cannot in one pull
  • 1.5 HP single-phase motor runs on ordinary site mains — no three-phase panel
  • 2,800 rpm delivering 1.8 kN of vibration force through the blade
  • No exhaust — safe indoors and on refurbishment sites
  • 13 kg total — light enough for one operator to lift and reposition
  • Removes air pockets AND levels in a single pass

Which screed vibrator for the slab

All three Jamshedji screed vibrators do the same underlying job — the choice is about slab size and site conditions.

  • This electric single beam (3 m) — small to mid-sized slabs where 220 V mains are on site.
  • Petrol single beam (3 m) — same 3 m blade, Honda GX35 petrol engine, for remote and greenfield sites with no power supply.
  • Double beam (4.2 m) — wider slabs and higher-quality finishes: twin beams strike the surface twice per pass and cover 4.2 m in one pull.

For large industrial floors and warehouse slabs where flatness specifications matter, move up to the walk behind laser screed or the ride on laser screed, which level without screed rails.

Applications

Residential and commercial slab casting, industrial floors, road and pavement finishing, driveways and garage floors, ramps, footpaths, precast production, and any slab where the pour finishes with a wet screed pass before troweling.

Frequently asked questions

What does a screed board vibrator do?

It levels the freshly poured slab and drives air out of the top layer at the same time — vibration densifies the surface while the straight-edge blade holds it flat, in one working pass across the pour.

Electric or petrol screed vibrator — how do I choose?

Same 3 m blade on both. Electric where the site has 220 V mains — cheaper to run, no exhaust, safe indoors. Petrol for remote and greenfield sites where there is no power supply.

When should I go up to the double beam?

When slab width exceeds a comfortable 3 m single pull, or when the slab needs a higher-quality finish — the double beam covers 4.2 m in one pass and strikes the surface twice per pass, so density and flatness both improve.

What power supply does it need?

Ordinary 220 V single phase, driving a 1.5 HP motor. No three-phase panel is required.

Do I still need a power trowel afterwards?

Usually yes. The screed vibrator gets you a flat, dense slab; the power trowel then floats and finishes the surface as it starts to set.

How is it operated?

Two operators typically hold the blade at each end and draw it across the pour at a steady pace. Vibration does the compaction; the pull rate controls the finish.
