🏭 Direct from Manufacturer

The Jamshedji HCD110 electric tamping rammer is a jumping jack soil compactor driven by a 4 HP 220 V single-phase motor, delivering 3–3.5 tonnes of impact force at 700 impacts per minute with no fuel and no exhaust. That is what makes it the rammer for basements, indoor sites, underground utility trenches and any enclosed area where petrol engines are not permitted. It compacts soil, stone and land to a depth of 300 mm. Weight is 84 kg.

Key specifications at a glance

  • Model: HCD110
  • Motor: 4 HP, 220 V single phase, 2800 rpm
  • Impact force: 3–3.5 tonnes
  • Impact frequency: 700 impacts/min
  • Compaction depth: up to 300 mm
  • Weight: 84 kg

Where petrol and diesel rammers cannot go

Compaction still has to happen in basements, service tunnels, plant rooms and occupied buildings — and in those places a petrol or diesel rammer is not an option. Exhaust in an enclosed space is a genuine safety hazard, and on many sites it is simply not permitted by the contractor's own rules.

The HCD110 solves that. It runs on a standard 220 V single-phase site supply, needs no fuel handling, and produces nothing to ventilate. It still delivers 3–3.5 tonnes of impact at 700 blows per minute — the same working figures as the Honda petrol rammer — so you are not trading away compaction to gain the clean running.

Choosing between the three rammers

All three compact to 300 mm depth at 700 blows per minute. The difference is power source and impact force.

  • This HCD110 electric — 3–3.5 T, 84 kg, 220 V single phase. For indoor, basement and enclosed work.
  • Honda petrol rammer — 3–3.5 T, 85 kg. For open sites with no power supply, and where the machine is moved constantly.
  • Diesel rammer — 5 T, 130 kg. For sustained heavy earthwork on roads and large foundations.

Key features

  • Electric motor — no fuel, no fumes, safe for indoor and enclosed sites
  • 220 V single phase, so it runs on an ordinary site supply
  • 3–3.5 tonne impact force at 700 impacts per minute
  • Compaction depth up to 300 mm, effective on cohesive and semi-cohesive soils
  • Alloy steel components with heat treatment for long service life
  • 300 × 280 mm plate at 16 mm thickness — narrow enough for utility trenches
  • 84 kg, compact and manoeuvrable in confined spaces

Applications

  • Trench backfill — water, gas, electrical and telecom cable trenches
  • Foundation soil compaction on building and infrastructure projects
  • Road and pavement repair
  • Basement and underground construction
  • Confined spaces where petrol engines are not permitted
  • Compaction around footings, columns and retaining walls

Frequently asked questions

Can an electric tamping rammer be used indoors?

Yes — that is what it is for. It produces no exhaust, so it can work in basements, service tunnels, plant rooms and occupied buildings where petrol and diesel rammers are not permitted.

What power supply does the HCD110 need?

220 V single phase, driving a 4 HP motor at 2800 rpm. No three-phase connection or generator is required.

Is an electric rammer as effective as a petrol one?

For this pairing, yes. The HCD110 delivers 3–3.5 tonnes of impact at 700 blows per minute, the same working figures as the Honda petrol rammer, and compacts to the same 300 mm depth.

Which rammer should I buy — electric, petrol or diesel?

Electric for indoor and enclosed sites. Petrol for open sites with no power supply, especially where the machine is moved constantly. Diesel for sustained heavy earthwork where 5 tonnes of impact is needed.

How deep does it compact?

Up to 300 mm per layer. Deeper fills should be compacted in successive layers rather than in one lift.

What warranty is provided?

6 months on the motor against manufacturing defects.

What is the delivery time?

Within 10 days of order confirmation, dispatched from Pune.
